  • Russian Street Musicians Tour Across Europe and Asia in Soviet-Made Volga Cars

    A creative collective from Moscow calling themselves the Sunrise Expedition have been making waves on Russian social media for one of the most ambitious adventures ever undertaken by a musical group. These traveling musicians, illustrators, and tattoo artists have traveled tens of thousands of miles all over Europe and Asia on Soviet-made Volga cars in order to perform concerts wherever the wind takes them. They drove out from Moscow in fall of 2016, traveled across Asia to Bali, Indonesia by car, and arrived back in Moscow in early 2017, becoming the first musicians to perform in Tibet in the process. The Sunrise Expedition have embarked on a new journey called "To the Atlantic," with the aim of driving all the way out to the famous surf city of Nazare, Portugal. Ruptly caught up with the adventurers in Berlin.

  • Street Artist Draws Masterpieces Into Grime on Filthy Trucks

    One street artist is taking Moscow by storm with his ability to transform dirty vehicles into works of art by drawing masterpieces on them. Nikita Golubev, who goes by the handle ProBoyNick, carves intricate images into the grime built up on the back of semis and other vehicles that he finds parked on the Moscow streets. Nikita Golubev, who studied medicine and is a paediatrician by profession, moonlights as an artist, drawing pictures on vehicles parked on streets throughout the Russian capital. He was inspired to use dirty cars and trucks as his canvas after walking around his neighbourhood one morning and seeing random drawings on cars parked on the road. Nikita posts his artwork regulary on his Instagram account and his work has gotten some serious recognition. He now boasts nearly 20,000 followers, causing him to get noticed by some big time Moscow TV shows. It looks like doing the dirty work is starting to pay off big for Nikita Golubev.

    Damages caused by the torrential rains which hit Spain, leaving ar least three people dead and three people reported missing.
