King penguin Sir Nils Olav at Edinburgh Zoo is given yet another honor by the Norwegian Army on Monday, adding to his already impressive clutch of military titles.
His Majesty the King of Norway's Guard visited Edinburgh Zoo on Tuesday to bestow an honourary military title on a popular resident king penguin, named Sir Nils Olav, in video courtesy of the Edinburgh Zoo. Named after Major Nils Egelien who organised the adoption of a king penguin by Edinburgh Zoo in 1972 and the then-King of Norway, King Olav, Sir Nils is the Norwegian Guard's mascot.

Britain's King Charles III officially hands over the role of Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps to Prince William, appointing his heir to the ceremonial role in his younger son Prince Harry's old regiment. The 75-year-old monarch's decision to hand the role, which he held for 32 years, to William, 41, was seen as a snub to Harry when it was announced last year. IMAGES
Crates containing two endangered giant pandas are loaded onto a plane as they return to China after 12 years in the United Kingdom at Edinburgh Zoo in Scotland. It had been hoped female panda Tian Tian ("Sweetie") and male Yang Guang ("Sunshine") would breed while at the zoo, but they did not produce a cub. The pair are flying back to Chengdu where they will live at a wildlife sanctuary. IMAGES
