Gunnar Bentz and Jack Conger, two Olympic swimmers from the US national team who competed at the Rio Olympics were removed by security from a flight headed back to the US on Wednesday evening and were briefly detained by authorities for questioning.
Rio de Janeiro Civil Police chief Fernando Veloso announced during a press conference, Thursday, that claims made by four US Olympic swimmers saying they had been robbed at gun point were false, stating that they had fabricated large parts of the story.
Police in Brazil says they may charge a group of U.S. Olympic swimmers with vandalism and false testimony, accusing them of lying when they reported being robbed at gunpoint. Diane Hodges reports.
