  • Samsung expects to register 28% operating profit increase in 3rd quarter

    Seoul, Oct 8 (EFE/EPA).- Samsung Electronics said Friday it expects to register a 15.8 trillion won ($ 13.3 billion) operating profit in the year’s third quarter, representing 27.9 percent more year-on-year thanks to the continued good performance of its chip branch.This operating result, though below analysts' estimates, would also represent an advance of 25.7 percent compared to April-June, according to the financial projection of the South Korean technology giant published Friday.The company based in Suwon (south of Seoul) also said it expects to have a turnover in the July-September period of about 73 trillion won.     Yangon, Sep 23 (EFE/EPA).- The Asian Development Bank (ADB) updated Wednesday the expected fall in the gross domestic product (GDP) of Myanmar from 9 percent to 18.4 percent, as the country plunged into a deep crisis due to the military coup and pandemic.In a report on economic forecasts for Asia-Pacific, the ADB ranked Myanmar as the economy that will decline the most this year, only behind the Cook Islands (-26 percent), and does not offer data of the Asian country in 2022 due to the unstable situation.   • Samsung expects operating profit to grow 53.4% between April-June
