An innocent bystander was gunned down on accident by an undercover NYPD officer during a botched illegal arms deal, in Mount Vernon, New York on Friday afternoon.
A San Jose police officer was shot and killed after responding to a welfare check request on a man who had reportedly threatened to commit suicide on Tuesday evening.According to reports in the San Jose Mercury News and San Francisco Chronicle, the shooting occurred after the suspect, Scott Dunham, reportedly threatened to commit suicide or kill his wife if she did not leave the apartment. His wife left the apartment and called one of her children, who then informed the police.Officers responded to the call and spotted a man on a balcony as they approached the apartment building. Dunham reportedly shot at the officers with a rifle, killing officer Michael Johnson, a 14-year veteran of the force, at the scene.Police returned fire and possibly wounded Dunham. A manhunt was launched after the attack, and police believe they have cornered Dunham in the apartment building alone.
A New York City police officer was fatally shot and another one wounded while investigating a report of a robbery in the Bronx before the shooter was killed in an exchange of gunfire, according to authorities and local media. Rough Cut (no reporter narration).
In footage courtesy of the Columbus Police Department, Columbus Police Chief Kim Jacobs confirmed on Thursday that one of her officers had shot dead a black 13-year-old male, identified as Tyre King, after he was seen holding a BB gun during a police search for assailants in an armed robbery. The weapon recovered from the scene was identified to be a BB gun. Jacobs showed a replica image of the gun to press.
