Dydy Gassner, a well-known German tattoo artist, handled the needle as he got under the skin of Swiss inventor Andreas Wampl with a special type of ink. Andreas, the founder of start up company Skin 46, became the first person ever to be tattooed with what he has termed 'biogenic' ink. Andreas Wampl and his team have developed a special tattoo ink that contains human genetic information. He got a tattoo in a studio in the Swiss town of Buchs that used ink which contained genetic information from hair belonging to his children, Natalie and Nicolai. The Skin 46 team will send their new ink for a series of tests to make sure it's safe before bringing their ink to market and realising the dream of many tattoo lovers - to immortalize the DNA of their loved ones under their skin.
