Ismir, Oct 30 (EEE/EPA).- A powerful earthquake in the Aegean Sea rocked coastal areas of Greece and Turkey on Friday, killing at least 22 people and leaving more than 800 others injured.The strongest impact of the temblor was in the Turkish city of Izmir, where at least 20 people perished and rescue teams were continuing to search 17 buildings that suffered severe damage, Turkey's AFAD emergency management agency said. Athens/Istanbul, Oct 30 (EFE), (Camera: Dogan Tilic).- A powerful earthquake in the Aegean Sea rocked Greece and Turkey on Friday, causing several buildings to collapses in Izmir.The quake, with a preliminary magnitude of 6.6, struck off the north of the Greek island of Samos, just 17 kilometers to the west of the major Turkish city of Izmir, according to the Greek Institute of Geodynamics.It was registered as a 6.8 magnitude earthquake in Turkey, according to the Anadolu news agency, which reported that a number of buildings in Izmir had collapsed.Turkish emergency responders said at least four people had been killed and more than 120 injured, although search and rescue efforts were in the early stages.FOOTAGE OF THE AREA WHERE THE EARTHQUAKE TOOK PLACE.
