French workers begin demolishing the Calais migrant "Jungle", with officials hoping that its thousands of residents evacuate peacefully. Gavino Garay reports.
Building work began Tuesday on a wall to protect the port in the northern French city of Calais from repeated attempts by migrants to stow away on trucks heading for Britain. IMAGES
French demolition teams have started to dismantle the infamous refugee camp, known as the 'Jungle' in Calais. Reports say police fired teargas at about 150 people and activists who threw stones, and at least three shelters were on fire.

Images of demolition crews working on the collapsed Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore harbor, Maryland, which was destroyed in seconds last Tuesday when a cargo ship lost power and hit a bridge support column, killing six people. Authorities hope that removing the bridge -- by cutting it into smaller sections and lifting them out -- will help rescuers recover all the victims' bodies and eventually reopen the crucial shipping lane.
