With a narrow majority the Brazilian senate voted Thursday in favor of an impeachment trial for president Dilma Rousseff. This extraordinary measure was already taken in 1992 and will suspend Dilma for the following 180 days.

The right-wing president is accused by his critics of wrongdoing in a state contract to transport crude oil.
