  • FBI: Capitol Rioters May Be Put On No-Fly List

The FBI is considering adding those who attacked the US Capitol last week to the federal no-fly list. When a person checks in for a flight, his or her reservation information is checked against the TSA's Secure Flight database. The procedure includes determining whether the traveler is on the no-fly list or selectee list. On Tuesday, congressional leaders called to keep rioters off planes after they said they remained mostly in the dark from the agencies that oversee the list. Much of how the lists work, including what qualifies a person for inclusion and how many people are listed, is classified as sensitive security information. The no-fly list began in the wake of the 9/11 attacks when the FBI provided the FAA a list of 125 people who should not be allowed on planes.

  • AG Barr Won't Back Trump's Accusation That DOJ, FBI 'Know' Of Widespread Voter Fraud

US President Donald Trump continues to falsely insist that the election was stolen from him. However, his campaign has lost more than two dozen lawsuits seeking to contest the results and halt ballot counting and certification. According to Business Insider, he's also lost two recounts in Georgia and in Wisconsin. Recently, Trump accused the US Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation of failing to help him uncover systemic voter fraud. But Attorney General Bill Barr begged to differ with Trump on Tuesday, claiming the DOJ and FBI have no evidence of substantial fraud in the 2020 election. Barr's break with Trump is particularly notable given that he has been in lockstep with Trump's narrative for months. Barr pushed a baseless theory that expanding mail voting would lead to foreign countries flooding American voters with counterfeit mail ballots.

  • FBI Investigates Robocalls Trying To Suppress, Intimidate Voters

The FBI is investigating a series of suspicious robocalls and texts urging voters to 'stay home and stay safe' during the election. A senior cybersecurity official said Tuesday that such calls 'happen every election,' and are a tactic to intimidate and suppress voters. According to Business Insider, approximately 10 million such robocalls have gone out to voters across the US in recent months. Officials in Michigan said that some voters in Flint also received calls telling them to go to the polls on Wednesday to avoid long lines on Tuesday. In Kansas and Nebraska, similar calls were reported. Officials urged voters in both states to ignore the false claims and head to the polls.
