Israel's UN envoy urges the Security Council to impose "all possible sanctions" against Iran after the Islamic republic's unprecedented attack against Israel. SOUNDBITE
The United States announces sanctions on Iraqi low-cost airline Fly Baghdad, saying it provided assistance to Iran's Revolutionary Guards and proxies, while also targeting leaders of a pro-Iranian Iraq militia for sanctions. US National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby tells reporters the sanctions are "designed to protect not only our financial system but our national security." SOUNDBITE
Secretary of State Antony Blinken says that the United States will offer no sanctions relief to Iran under a draft deal that would free five Americans. "In any event, in any respect, Iran will not be receiving any sanctions relief," Blinken tells reporters when asked about the expected release of $6 billion in frozen Iranian funds. SOUNDBITE
The plane carrying the two Frenchmen released by Iran, Benjamin Briere and Bernard Phelan, lands at Le Bourget airport near Paris. The pair were among some two dozen foreigners jailed in Iran who campaigners see as hostages held in a deliberate strategy by Tehran to extract concessions from the West. IMAGES
