Mississippi Town Shocked by Slaying of Two Nuns

Description

According to people who knew them, the two nuns who were killed in a Mississippi town this week were among the most friendly and helpful people around — making their slayings all the more puzzling. The women, who have been identified as 68-year-olds Sister Margaret Held and Sister Paula Merrill, were found dead Thursday morning when they didn't report to their jobs as nurse practitioners at a nearby clinic where they provided flu shots and other medical care for children and adults. Their car was found abandoned a mile away from their home after police discovered their bodies, and there were signs of a break-in. However, authorities have not yet released any information on leads or suspects into the investigation.
