President Barack Obama says more must be done to address U.S. police shootings after coordinated sniper attacks in Dallas killed five police officers during protests over the shootings of two black men by police.
US President Barack Obama called for unity following the fatal shooting of three police officers in Baton Rouge during a press conference in Washington DC on Sunday. Addressing the recent police deaths in Dallas , the president said that "five days ago I travelled to Dallas for the memorial service of the officers who were slain there. I said that, that killer would not be the last person who tries to make us turn on each other nor will today's killer. It remains up to us to make sure that they fail."
Louisiana State Police confirmed that at least three police officers were killed in a shooting in Baton Rouge in Louisiana on Sunday, with State Governor John Bel Edwards calling it an "unspeakable and unjustified attack." The attack follows the police killing of Alton Sterling in the same city earlier in the month.
