An elephant calf born at Dallas zoo enjoys his first paddling pool experience
The Zoo of Copenhagen has released footage of a baby elephant which was born last week in captivity as part of a European breeding program for Asian elephants. The mother is 16 year old Maha Kumari and the fathers name is Fahim. The name and gender of the baby elephant aren't known yet. Calves weight in beetween 70 and 90kg at birth after spending 22 months in their mothers wombs, the longest gestation in the animal kindom. A baby elephant struck by a motorcycle on Sunday while crossing a road with a group of wild pachyderms in the province of Chanthaburi, Thailand. But according to HuffPost, a quick-thinking and highly experienced rescue worker saved the little one using CPR. Both the rider and elephant are recovering. Neither had serious injuries. In his 26 years as a rescue worker, Mana Srivate has performed dozens of resuscitation attempts--but never before on an elephant. Khloe Kardashian was thrown a pink elephant-themed baby shower over the weekend ahead of the birth of her baby girl.
This wild baby elephant fell into a hole filled with mud while traveling with his herd in the Nilgiris Mountains in southern India. Trumpeting loudly in panic and fear, the elephant and his family alerted forest workers, who mounted a full scale rescue operation. Dozens of workers, tamed elephants, heavy vehicles, and a bulldozer worked five gruelling hours before finally freeing the trapped pachyderm.
