The US track and field athletes Christian Taylor, Will Claye and pole vaulter Sam Kendricks gave a joint press conference at the Olympic Park's Media Press centre, Tuesday, following the men's triple jump and pole vault final. The 16-year-old swimmer won the gold medal in the 100m freestyle, a silver in the 100m butterfly competitions and two bronze medals for the 4x100m and 4x200m freestyle relay. Oleksiak said that "as long as I have love for this sport, I am gonna keep progressing."
US swimmer and the most decorated Olympian of all time, Michael Phelps, announced that he is retiring after claiming his 23rd Olympic gold medal, during a press conference at the Olympic Park in Rio de Janeiro, Sunday. Phelps won a total of 28 Olympic medals in his lifetime.
