Trump Defends Throwing Paper Towels to Hurricane Survivors in Puerto Rico

Description

Trump took to the defense about the highly circulated and criticized video showing him throwing paper towels into a crowd at a relief center in Puerto Rico. Trump said in an interview with Mike Huckabee that the towels were “beautiful, soft towels. Very good towels” and that the crowd was cheering and saying “throw em to me Mr. President!”. Trump said that he had been treated unfairly by the media over relief efforts on the hurricane ravaged island. The president also continued his criticism of San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz. Cruz spoke out about Trump throwing paper towels and provisions saying it was a “terrible and abominable view” and “it does not embody the spirit of the American nation.”
