Head of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, Berit Reiss-Andersen, says they "hope" Iran would release jailed Nobel Peace Prize laureate Narges Mohammadi so she could attend the prize ceremony in December. Speaking just after announcing the winners of this year's Nobel Peace Prize, the Chair of Norway's Nobel Committee, Breit Reiss-Andersen, says "this prize is not addressing President Putin", before adding that his government "is representing an authoritarian government that is suppressing human rights activists." The 2022 Prize's joint winners are: jailed Belarusian activist, Ales Bialiatski, Russian human rights organisation, Memorial, and Ukrainian human organisation, the Center for Civil Liberties.
