Bogor, Feb 4 (EFE/EPA).- The newest addition to Indonesia's Taman Safari conservation agency in West Java province's town of Bogor, a baby white rhinoceros, made her public debut Thursday. The baby white rhino, born on October 26, 2020, was named Azsyifa.Taman Safari conservation agency is home to five white rhinos, one of the critically endangered animals. It was a rare moment for an endangered species when Yasha, a Siberian Tiger, met his beautiful new cubs for the first time at the Tierpark Hagenbeck Zoo in Hamburg, Germany last week. Cubs Anushka, Dasha, Mischka and Vitali were born on June 15, 2017 - the first litter born at the zoo in 15 years. Their mother, Maruschka, was born at the Novosibirsk zoo in Siberia in 2011 and met the cubs' father Yasha at Hagenbeck.
Footage provided courtesy of the Bronx Zoo shows the adorable first moments of a new female baby snow leopard cub playing with her mom on Thursday. The new cub, who is unnamed as of yet, was jumping all over her mom and playing with her tail as she was unveiled to the public for the first time. Her grandpa is the famous snow leopard called Leo, who was sent to the US in 2006 as part of a partnership program between the Wildlife Conservation Society and the governments of the USA and Pakistan.
Video provided courtesy of Munich Hellabrunn Zoo shows the moment that the zoo's new baby polar bear showed herself to public for the first time in the outdoor tundra enclosure on Friday. Closely accompanied by her mother Giovanna, the 14 week old cub faced zoo visitors for the first and appeared happy and ready for the new adventure. Now that the fluffy little cub is old enough to brave the outdoor enclosure, zoo staff decided the moment was right to bring the little white bear out in front of visitors. She was closely accompanied by her mother as she explored and pottered around, playing in the woodchip and clambering over the rocks and grass of her pen. Zoo staff have not yet given a name to their new cub, but bear will soon receive a name beginning with the letter 'Q'. All animals born at the Munich Hellabrunn Zoo in 2016 receive a name beginning with the same letter. The zoo has put together a list of seven of their favorite names and have asked visitors to vote for their favorite. The zoo hopes the baby bear will encourage onlookers to take a greater interest in endangered species. Polar bears live in fragile habitats, which are being threatened by global warming and melting polar ice caps.
Footage courtesy of the Blank Park Zoo in Des Moines, Iowa shows a newborn baby rhino bathing with her mother on Sunday. The baby rhino was born on October 11 weighing 80 pounds, standing 21 inches tall, measuring 35 inches long. The yet-to-be-named female rhino is only one of seven rhinos in the world to have been born in a zoo this year.
