The heads of West African states gather in Abuja to hold an extraordinary summit on Niger, following a coup d'etat which has established military leaders as the new heads of state. The summit follows an announcement overnight by Niger's military regime that they had formed a new government. ECOWAS says it has not ruled out military intervention in order to reinstate overthrown president Mohamed Bazoum. IMAGES
