MotoGP - Repsol Honda Team unveil new 2018 livery in Jakarta

The Repsol Honda Team unveiled their 2018 livery during the squad’s official presentation, which took place today at the Jakarta International Expo, with Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa. The reigning MotoGP World Champion and his teammate had just completed a successful test in Thailand before flying to Indonesia with Team Manager Alberto Puig and Tetsuhiro Kuwata, HRC’s Director – General Manager Race Operations Management Division. This marked the fourth consecutive year that the Repsol Honda Team launch has been hosted by Astra Honda in Indonesia, where MotoGP is hugely popular and Marc and Dani are heroes to the youth generation, and they’re an inspiration for the young riders from Astra Honda’s “Step Up Program,” who attended today’s event.

  • Honda Racing - MotoGP, Marc Marquez leaves Sepang Test feeling positive

    While unable to complete as many laps over the three-day test as normal, Marc Márquez and the Repsol Honda Team leave Malaysia pleased with progress made. Finally the Sepang Test has come a close, Marc Márquez completing a total of 105 laps while evaluating the various new parts for the 2019 Honda RC213V and the condition of his shoulder. With his recovery from shoulder surgery is still continuing, his running over the three days was limited but the seven-time world champion remained able to set competitive times and completed his testing programme.Starting early each day, Márquez diligently assessed the most important parts developed over the winter by Honda. Improving his overall time by half a second, Márquez finished the Sepang Test with a 1’59.170. Although he ended the test as the 11th fastest rider, Márquez and the entire Repsol Honda Team remain pleased with the progress made over the three days.Marc Márquez and the Repsol Honda Team will next be on track for the Qatar Test, February 23 – 25, where Jorge Lorenzo is scheduled to return from injury.

    "Toni Bou and his Repsol Honda Team comrade, Japanese rider Takahisa Fujinami, will this weekend face the final hurdle as the 2018 TrialGP World Championship arrives in Italy. Bou has already sealed the title, but Fujinami can still improve upon his overall position. The world championship calendar draws to a close with the dispute, this coming weekend, of the Italian TrialGP, set to take place in Pietramurata in the Trentino region. Repsol Honda Team will tackle this final round of the campaign with the season’s main objectives already accomplished in the most recent event in Great Britain, namely, victory in the individual world title and the manufacturers’ championship. Toni Bou arrives at Pietramurata with a 150-point advantage in the bag and a difference of 33 points over the nearest second-place rival. The Repsol Honda Team rider has won six trials out of the eight disputed so far this season, which have helped Bou to set a new record of 103 world championship victories."

  • Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa looking forward to home GP in Catalunya CATALUNYA 2018

    The Repsol Honda Team is heading to the newly resurfaced Circuit de Catalunya for Round 7 of the season. Championship leader Marc Marquez and teammate Dani Pedrosa had the chance to test the new asphalt and the track’s updated layout before the Italian GP. The run-off area for turn 13 has been worked on, track officials enlarging the run-off area by more than 20 meters while also removing the surrounding grandstands. The bank angle of turn 10 and 11 has also been altered. As it is the case with other six rounds of the season, the Catalan Grand Prix will be shortened in length compared to previous years. This time the race will change from 25 laps to 24. At the Gran Premi de Catalunya Marc Marquez has 2 wins, 1×125 (2010) and 1xMotoGP (2014), plus an additional 5 podiums and 3 pole positions. Dani Pedrosa has 3 wins, 1×125 (2003), 1×250 (2005) and 1xMotoGP (2008), plus an additional 10 podiums and 4 pole positions. Marc and Dani have stood together on the podium on four occasions: in 2013 (Dani 2nd and Marc 3rd), 2014 (Marc 1st and Dani 3rd) in 2016 (Marc 2nd and Dani 3rd), and in 2017 (Marc 2nd and Dani 3rd).
