Rome’s $56,000 'Mangy' Christmas Tree Embarrassing for Locals

Description

Rome's annual Christmas tree looks a bit bare this year, and locals have noticed. Municipal authorities spent an eye-watering €48,000, or about $56,700 on the Christmas tree, which citizens have compared to a toilet brush. The word 'spelacchio,' meaning 'mangy' in Italian, has been trending on Twitter, as people across the country voice their opinions.
