US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo won't be making a final lap around Europe after all. His European was scrapped on Tuesday after Luxembourg's foreign minister and European Union officials refused to meet with him. According to Business Insider, a series of diplomats snubbed Pompeo. One diplomatic source says that America's European allies were 'embarrassed' by the deadly riot at the Capitol last week. A day after the siege, Asselborn publicly called President Donald Trump a 'criminal' and a 'political pyromaniac who should be sent to criminal court.'
Georgia's Republican top election official Brad Raffensperger says he believes President Trump's attacks on mail voting suppressed his own base. In fact, Raffensperger says Trump's baseless claims that mail voting is untrustworthy and fraudulent cost him the state. According to Business Insider, 24,000 Republicans who voted by mail in the state's June 9 primary elections did not vote at all in the general election. While Trump outperformed the polls in many states, he lost the key battleground states of Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, in addition to Georgia. What's more, an even higher number of Georgia Democrats who voted in the primaries stayed home for the general. Trump was the first Republican presidential nominee to lose Georgia since George H.W. Bush in 1992.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Friday offered his congratulations for holding 'free and fair elections.' However, he didn't offer them towards his own country. Nor has he recognized President-elect Joe Biden as the winner. Instead, Business Insider reports Pompeo congratulated Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves on his reelection in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Pompeo on Friday left Washington for a 10-day trip to seven countries with leaders that have congratulated Biden on his 2020 victory. Countries across the globe have congratulated Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris. But St. Vincent and the Grenadines has not.
A large group of supporters of President Donald Trump slowed and stopped traffic on a portion of the Garden State Parkway in New Jersey on Sunday. Multiple videos posted to social media showed vehicles flying Trump flags stopped on the highway as their occupant blew their car horns and cheered loudly. Local media reports the incident took place in the express lanes and along the Parkway's grassy shoulder areas, in the Holmdel area of the state. On Friday, a caravan of Trump supporters closely followed a Biden-Harris campaign bus, leading to a collision and the cancelation of several Democratic Party events. MSNBC's Stephanie Ruhle said the Chessequake area express lanes were 'basically shut down.' She tweeted, 'Trump supporters out of their cars with flags.'
