With the world premiere of the Cayenne Coupé, Porsche is extending the third generation of its successful SUV range. An interview with Detlev von Platen, Member of the Executive Board for Sales and Marketing at Porsche AG. Entry into a new vehicle segment: with the world premiere of the Cayenne Coupé, Porsche is extending the third generation of its successful SUV range. The vehicle impresses with its particularly dynamic contours and new technical details, which give it a very athletic appearance. The highlights of the new Cayenne model include sharper contours with a totally unique rear end, an adaptive rear spoiler, a rear bench with the characteristics of two individual seats, and two roof concepts: a panoramic, fixed glass roof fitted as standard, and an optional carbon roof. The significantly steeper roof line falling to the rear makes this vehicle appear even more dynamic and visually positions it as the sportiest-looking model in the segment. The Cayenne Coupé will be available with two different engine variants at its market launch: a six-cylinder, turbocharged engine with 250 kW (340 PS; Combined fuel consumption 9.4 – 9.3 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions 215 – 212 g/km), making a standard sprint from 0-100 km/h in 6.0 seconds possible as well as a four-litre V8 engine with twin turbocharging in the top-of-the-range Cayenne Turbo Coupé model, 404 kW (550 PS; Combined fuel consumption 11.4 – 11.3 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions 261 – 258 g/km) and accelerating from a standing start to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds.

  • As the World Premiere nears, Mark Webber drives the new Porsche 911

Ex-Formula One driver Mark Webber pushed the new Porsche 911 to its limits on a final trial around the test track. Alongside Vice President Product lines 911 and 718, “Mr 911” August Achleitner, who was keen to learn what the former racing driver thought, Webber had the chance to inspect the car with its camouflage almost completely removed. Returning from his fast laps at Porsche’s development centre in Weissach, he said: “In a word, that was awesome. There are so many highlights. The wide front axle, for example, seemed to give it greater cornering performance and turning-in became even more precise. The different front and back wheel sizes make a big difference to stability when you’re changing direction quickly too. As for the design, I love it: it’s very clear and typical Porsche.” The video, featuring all of Webber’s impressions, is ready at newsTV.porsche.com. The centralised video portal is the new place to go for all of Porsche’s exclusive video content – free of charge and with no registration required.

  • Porsche Carrera Cup - Hockenheim - Summary News

Thomas Preining has concluded the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland season perfectly: After the Porsche Junior was crowned champion thanks to his victory at Saturday’s race, Preining followed up with another win at round 14 on Sunday. Taking up the race from pole position in his Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, Preining refused to give up the lead spot over the entire distance. Just as the racing driver from Linz had built up a one-second advantage on the storied German racetrack, two vehicles collided in the midfield, resulting in the race being interrupted while the racetrack was cleared. After the restart, Ammermüller stuck close to the bumper of Preining’s 911. However, the German driver found no way past the Austrian to secure the lead spot. After 13 laps, 20-year-old Preining swept over the finish line as the winner 0.4 seconds ahead of Ammermüller. For the youngster, this marked his tenth victory in the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland. “Thomas Preining was so fast today that there was never really a chance for me to overtake him. After the restart I managed to put on the pressure, but unfortunately the race was over shortly afterwards,” said Ammermüller.

  • The new Porsche Macan 4 in Aventurine Green Metallic Driving Video

It’s all down to this line, a mere stroke on paper. And yet it marks a a new beginning. The coupé-like roofline of the Macan and the striking rear—with its shape so typical of Porsche—evoke the tight, unmistakable flyline of the 911. But this time, it’s not just a reminder of the Porsche icon. Rather, the shape, including the rear spoiler, is a groundbreaking innovation in the all-electric SUV segment. “The active aerodynamic elements all contribute significantly to the range,” says aerodynamics specialist Thomas Wiegand. “We have a rear spoiler that raises automatically, active cooling flaps at the front air intakes, and flexible covers on the underbody.” Located in the same building as the Style Porsche design department, the Weissach wind tunnel gives form and shape to the streamlining of the newly developed Macan. It’s the first Porsche based on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) created in collaboration with Audi. This platform not only benefits from development synergies, but is also highly flexible, enabling Porsche to implement its own technical and brand-specific objectives. Full electrification of the popular model line is an important milestone on the path to ensuring that more than 80 percent of the new cars are fully electrified in 2030—depending on the demand of customers and the development of electromobility in the respective regions of the world.
