    Amid President Donald Trump's frantic tweets demanding a stop to voting, Twitter itself is being sued for not suspending Trump's account. Business Insider reports the suit comes from two national, nonpartisan organizations. They're calling for CEO Jack Dorsey to temporarily suspend Trump's Twitter account over multiple violations of the company's civic integrity policy. The president has made various tweets in the last few days including baseless claims of election fraud and prematurely declaring victory. Twitter announced well ahead of Election Day that it would add labels to tweets that included misleading content. But the joint letter states that doing so 'does not go far enough' as the results of the 2020 presidential election remain unofficial.

  • Rush Limbaugh Stomps Away From Twitter

    Right-wing radio host Rush Limbaugh has deactivated his Twitter account. Limbaugh's choice to step off Twitter follows the permanent suspension of President Trump's account by the company. Limbaugh is one of a handful of high-profile Trump supporters who closed or lost their Twitter accounts following the Capitol Hill insurrection. Twitter has also suspended the accounts of Trump's former national security advisor Michael Flynn, pro-Trump lawyer Sidney Powell, and Ron Watkins. Business Insider reports Limbaugh has praised the rioters as being in the same class as Revolutionary War heroes Thomas Paine and Samuel Adams.

  • Twitter Suspended Trump's Account Permanently

    Twitter has permanently suspended President Donald Trump from accessing his account. Facebook moved to block Trump "indefinitely" on Thursday following a violent siege of the US Capitol. "After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence," the company said in a tweet. Plans to storm the Capitol had been circulating on social media sites like Facebook. The plans were also spread on Twitter and Parler in the weeks leading up to the attack.

  • Snapchat Locked Trump's Account

    Snapchat locked President Donald Trump out of his account. The company shut down Trump's account on Wednesday, during the violent insurrection at the US Capitol. A pro-Trump mob broke into the Capitol building on Wednesday and four people died as a result of the violence. Snapchat had stopped promoting Trump's account back in June 2020 due to his comments during anti-police brutality protests. According to Business Insider, Facebook and Twitter also suspended Trump's accounts as well.
