NTSB Opens Investigation for Fatal Tesla Crash

Description

The National Transportation Safety Board has opened an investigation into a fatal crash involving a Tesla Model X. According to the agency, the crash happened near Mountain View, California last week, and caused a major vehicle fire. The Tesla crashed into a freeway wall before colliding with two other vehicles. The NTSB added that the driver of the Tesla was killed during the collision. The vehicle's lithium batteries caught fire, prompting emergency officials to consult with Tesla engineers on how to extinguish the battery fire.
