Trump Is Done Playing Nice With Mueller

The past few days have shown a shift in Donald Trump’s approach to the ongoing investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election. His rhetoric has shown a move towards an increased focus on winning the fight for public opinion rather than cooperating with the probe. Trump has been kept largely constrained, but as of late he tweeted "Mueller probe should never have been started in that there was no collusion and there was no crime.

  • Robert Mueller Indicts Russians Over Election Meddling

Federal investigators and prosecutors, and a grand jury, have now found probable cause to believe that a complex web of Russian organizations and agents executed a years-long scheme to undermine our elections – first to sow chaos, conflict and doubt into our electoral system and then specifically to support Donald Trump and oppose Hillary Clinton. Beyond providing detailed support for Russian interference and starting the process of holding accountable those who perpetrated this exceedingly serious crime, Special Counsel Robert Mueller is, with this indictment, doing his part to prevent it from happening again.

Nadler says he plans to ask former Special Counsel Robert Mueller to say as such at a congressional hearing Wednesday. The administration must be held accountable, and no president can be above the law. Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) Nadler’s comments are significant because evidence of such crimes would be required if Democrats pursue impeachment proceedings.
