Hundreds of Gazans rush towards aid trucks carrying flour and canned food in Gaza City. Ten trucks have crossed into the Gaza Strip transporting aid from several countries, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt as well as the World Food Programme. But as fighting enters its fourth month, the World Health Organization has warned that its ability to provide aid and support hospitals was "shrinking". IMAGES

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken issues a dire warning that Ukraine's territorial gains against Russia are at risk without new aid approved by Congress. The head of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) warns of "deliberate attempt" to "paralyse" its Gaza operations, saying it is running out of fuel. "UNRWA is now running out of fuel. We will not be able to uphold our commitment to provide for the Palestinian people any longer. I do believe there is a deliberate attempt to strangle our operation and paralyse the UNRWA operation," Philippe Lazzarini tells a press conference in Geneva. Israel has vowed to eradicate Hamas in retaliation for the attacks of October 7, which killed 1,200 people, most of them civilians, and saw about 240 people hostage, according to Israeli officials. The UN agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) warns that the limited number of aid convoys entering Gaza were insufficient to meet the "unprecedented humanitarian needs" in the territory. "The system in place to allow aid into Gaza is geared to fail unless there is political will to make the flow of supplies meaningful, matching the unprecedented humanitarian needs," says UNRWA chief Philippe Lazzarini, calling on the Security Council to demand an immediate humanitarian ceasefire.
