On the 5th of May 2004, a live concert was held at the Café de Paris in London to find the Saddest Music in the World. It was also a film premiere to celebrate the UK & Eire release of Guy Maddin's The Saddest Music in the World. Bands of all shapes, sizes and sounds joined in from far and wide to compete for the saddest music honour: Guy Maddin and the lead actors Mark McKinney and Maria de Madeiros were the judges.
