Olaf Scholz is poised to replace Angela Merkel as Chancellor of Germany after his centre-left Social Democrats reached a deal to form a new coalition government with the liberals and Greens. FRANCE 24's Thomas Sparrow reports from Berlin.
Germany's Social Democrats said on Monday they would start the process of trying to forge a three-way alliance and lead a government for the first time since 2005 after they narrowly won Sunday's national election. FRANCE 24's François Picard tells us more.
