Ever wanted to become a ninja? The first international meeting of Ninja Studies students took place in Iga in Japan last weekend to commemorate a special event. Mie University in Japan's Iga Prefecture, the historic home of one of the best known ninja schools of ancient Japan, now asks history Masters students to take an entrance exam in ninja studies.
Since losing the 2020 election, President Donald Trump has continued to attack the integrity of the voting system. Some of his Fox News allies have homed in on the company Smartmatic--because of the services it provided Los Angeles County for the election. But CNN reports the voting technology sent Fox News a blistering legal threat accusing of participating in a 'disinformation campaign' against it. In response, Fox has begun airing a remarkable news package debunking claims its hosts and guests have propagated. CNN reports the package aired for the first time Friday night on Lou Dobbs' show. Fox News said the same package would air Saturday night on Jeanine Pirro's program as well as Sunday morning on Maria Bartiromo's show.
A new study reveals a COVID-19 vaccine under development in England safely promotes an immune response against the virus. According to UPI, the vaccine is in Phase 2 of clinical trials with Astra Zeneca, and is particularly effective in elderly recipients who are over age 70. Researchers say the finding of the 'robust' responses in older people in their study is both significant and encouraging. The populations at greatest risk of serious COVID-19 disease include people with existing health conditions and older adults. The so-called "Oxford vaccine," formally known as ChAdOx1 nCoV-19, is one of more than 120 being evaluated in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. To date, 48 of these vaccines have gotten into clinical trials to assess their safety and efficacy.
Business Insider reports the Federal Bureau of Investigation had its eyes on Jeffrey Epstein long before his death by apparent suicide in a New York City jail cell. The Bureau had plans to arrest Epstein while he was judging a beauty pageant in the US Virgin Islands in 2007, a year before his plea deal. The DoJ's Office of Professional Responsibility released a summary on Thursday of the handling of Epstein's first federal investigation between 2006 and 2008. The full 347-page report detailed law enforcement's plan to take Epstein into custody as early as May of 2007. Alex Acosta, the former Labor Secretary under the Trump administration, was at the time the Attorney for the Southern District of Florida. He agreed to a plea deal to grant immunity from all federal criminal charges to Epstein, along with four named co-conspirators. Epstein owned an island in the US Virgin Islands that he used as his primary residence. Now a tourist destination, it's referred to as 'Pedophile Island.'
The NY Times reports that President Donald Trump has had more than $280 million in debt forgiven since 2010. According to Business Insider most of it was linked to money he owed lenders for the construction of a massive skyscraper in Chicago. Trump borrowed money for the Trump International Hotel & Tower from Germany's Deutsche Bank and Fortress Investment Group. Trump failed to pay the money bank. The lenders initially gave him more time. According to tax return records and loan documents viewed by the NY Times eventually Deutsche and Fortress forgave the debt.
South Carolina is a longtime bastion of Southern conservatism. And if former state Democratic Party chairman Jamie Harrison beats three-term GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham, it would be a jolt to Democrats across the country. According to Business Insider, the Senate race has become part of the expanded Democratic calculus for winning a Senate majority. Surveys conducted by Morning Consult and Quinnipiac University show the race as either tied or with one candidate holding a small lead. Lindsey Graham can't lead us in any direction because he traded his moral compass for petty political gain. He's forgotten about the people that he represents...You. Jamie Harrison Political campaign ad In total, Harrison has raised roughly $86 million for his campaign, while Graham raised about $30 million through June. In September, Graham appealed to supporters on Fox News, where he said that he 'was getting killed financially' by Harrison.
