Appeal To Deny Ousted Nissan Boss Ghosn's Release On Bail Denied

According to a report by Reuters, on Tuesday, a Japanese court rejected a last-minute attempt by prosecutors to keep former Nissan Motor Chairman Carlos Ghosn in prison, ruling that he could be released on 8.9 million dollars bail after over 100 days in detention. The Tokyo District Court reportedly said it had rejected an appeal by prosecutors who looked to keep him in prison until his trial for financial misconduct. Reuters reports that the decision paves the way for Ghosn's release as early as Wednesday and marks a victory for his newly assembled legal team, spearheaded by a lawyer known as 'the Razor.'

Reuters reports Ousted Nissan boss Carlos Ghosn walked out of a Tokyo prison on a $9 million bail on Wednesday, slipping past reporters in a face mask and moving closer to mounting a defense against financial misconduct charges that he has called “meritless”.
