Biden To Donors: Stump Up Fast

Description

The night before announcing his presidential bid, former Vice President Joe Biden raised the alarm about fundraising in a Wednesday conference call with top donors and supporters. According to Politico, Biden told the group on the call, “The money’s important. We’re going to be judged by what we can do in the first 24 hours, the first week." However, prominent Florida Democratic donor John Morgan was on the Wednesday conference call. He said the former vice president sounded “positive," and said while Biden is realistic about the challenges ahead, he’s not “worried” about fundraising.

  • In Election's Home Stretch, Trump Campaign Scrambled For Cash

Former 2020 Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale made a $200m miscalculation that left the campaign nearly flat broke, a month before election day. According to Business Insider, Parscale had counted on boatloads of last-minute cash donations to nearly double the dollar amount of previous monthly hauls. Republicans close to the campaign said staffers have had to scramble to cancel the spending approved by Parscale to salvage the president's run for a second term. But money has been tight since then, and Trump himself has been trying to quash stories that his campaign is on the rocks Trump has also had to float the idea, again, that he would open up his own checkbook to keep it running.

  • If Things Go South For Trump On Election Day, They'll Go South Very, Very Fast

If Joe Biden is elected president, outgoing President Donald Trump is likely to have more days in court than he ever dreamed possible. Lacking his current presidential protections, Trump will face multiple investigations over whether he committed fraud in his businesses--and as an individual. According to CNN, Trump also faces defamation lawsuits sparked by his denials of accusations made by women who have alleged he assaulted them. If Trump wins, he may be able to run out the statute of limitations, which for some crimes in New York state law is five to six years. Or, he could simply continue enjoying the DOJ's Office of Legal Counsel opinion that says a sitting president can't be indicted.

Trump, 77, has been ordered by the judge to appear in the Manhattan court for the duration of the case, largely keeping him off the campaign trail for weeks as he challenges President Joe Biden for the White House in November's election.
