Sri Lanka: Muslim Council had warned officials about leader of Islamist militant group that carried out attacks

Description

Officials in Sri Lanka say suspected leader of the National Thowheeth Jama'ath group, said to have carried out the Easter bombings, died in one of the nine suicide bombings. The Council of Muslim Theologians said they already warned officials for the dangers he could pose.

    Colombo, Sep 6 (EFE/EPA).- The Sri Lankan health ministry continued vaccinating people who are in the 20-30 age group as the country struggles with a surge of Delta variant infections.The Sri Lankan government last week began the COVID-19 vaccination program for the age group of 20-30 years with the aim of vaccinating 3.7 million people before the end of October.
