Benin in grip of protests after controversial election

Description

Hundreds of protesters take to the streets of Cotonou, economic capital of Benin, in unrest that follows a controversial election held without a single opposition candidate. Much of the activity is centered around the home of former Beninese President Thomas Boni Yayi, who led calls to boycott the election. One woman has died from wounds sustained a day earlier, while a man has been hospitalized with a gunshot wound in his back.
