Madrid, Feb 11 (EFE).- (Camera: EFE)Venezuelan opposition leader Leopoldo Lopez says Europe cannot remain neutral in the democratic struggle in the crisis-ridden South American nation that Nicolas Maduro has ruled since the death of his predecessor and mentor, Hugo Chavez, in 2013.INTERVIEW WITH LEOPOLDO LÓPEZ.Translation:"The kind of support that Maduro receives from those who defend him comes in the shape of military, having military facilities on Venezuelan ground...This happens with Russia, Iran. It comes with intelligence support, and something very important, the distorsion of social media. There you can clearly see how, particularly Russia, constantly pollutes communications on social media in Venezuela. Support also comes in the shape of money laundering that comes through corruption. Support also comes from receiving the blood of gold that comes from profound violations of the environment and human rights, it leaves Venezuela and enters the market through Turkey after laundering. It also gets diplomatic support actively and proactively. For example, the Security Council of the United Nations in many occasions China and Russia have supported the positions of Maduro's dictatorship. This is a reality, that's why, when we face this reality, we ask Europe not to be neutral. What is happening in Venezuela is a reality to which one cannot be neutral. Either you are with the dictatorship or you are against the dictatorship. Either you are with freedom or you are with the dictatorship, there are no nuances. That's why we insist on the importance of a very clear support, with specific goals, with cohesion among the different countries and with the determination to exert all the necessary pressure to get rid of Maduro."
