Bid of $4.57 Million Gets Private Lunch With Warren Buffett

An anonymous bidder is paying $4,567,888 to have a private lunch with Warren Buffett. According to Reuters, this bid is a record amount for Buffett’s annual charity auction. It was one-third higher than the previous records of $3,456,789 in both 2012 and 2016 auctions. The money will help the Glide Foundation, a charity that serves the poor, homeless and those battling substance abuse. Buffet has raised about $34.2 million for Glide in 20 annual auctions.
