This remote-controlled, wheeled robot is called Thorvald and it was designed to able to fill the gaps in British farm labor which some people anticipate when the UK finally pulls out of the EU. The four-wheeled device, which is controlled by a joystick and comes equipped with a GPS, is a modular robot created by Norwegian and British engineers to handle manual labor jobs such as picking and seeding. According to the Government’s official figures, 22,517 EU-born workers were employed in UK farms in 2015. Agriculture all over the world is going through a major technological change and Thorvald is one of many new machines out there leading the charge.
