Bentley is taking the next step on its journey to a sustainable future with the launch of the new Bentayga Hybrid – the only electrified true-luxury SUV in the world, and a model that Bentley predicts will become the best-selling member of the new Bentayga family.Following the recent launches of the new Bentayga V8 and Bentayga Speed, the new Bentayga Hybrid becomes the third model in the most successful luxury SUV portfolio the segment has ever seen.The new exterior and interior design emphasises Bentley design DNA across the entire model range, giving Bentley the freshest and most modern product family of any luxury car company.The new Bentayga Hybrid offers the ultimate in electric luxury, with smooth and silent progress through urban environments, whilst having the grand touring capability to escape the city and explore further. Customers of the Bentayga Hybrid can escape the noise of the city through the refined and acoustically-isolated serenity of the cabin without engine interference, using up to 31 miles of electric-only range (NEDC), before physically leaving the city behind with the comfort of a total combined range of 536 miles (NEDC).
Following the launch of the Bentayga V8 and Bentayga Speed last summer, the Bentayga Hybrid is the third model in the most successful luxury SUV portfolio the segment has ever seen. The first generation Bentayga Hybrid accounted for one in every five of Bentaygas manufactured, and the introduction of the second generation is likely to increase that ratio – 45 per cent of Bentayga orders in China since launch have been for the hybrid version.Providing a simplified offer for customers, the latest generation Bentayga Hybrid is available at the same base price as a Bentayga V8 – focusing the customer choice on powertrain preference rather than cost. The Mulsanne W.O. Edition by Mulliner will make its Chinese debut alongside the 8 Litre once owned by Bentley’s founder himself. Bringing the brand story up to date, the all-new Bentayga Hybrid and Continental GT and GTC models will also be on show.The Mulsanne W.O Edition by Mulliner pays homage to W.O. Bentley – the founding father of the company. His own personal 8 Litre model – the last car he designed for Bentley in 1930 – will also be on display on the Bentley stand at the Shanghai event, which starts on 16 April.Alongside this historic vehicle is the pioneering, all-new Bentayga Hybrid – the go-anywhere SUV that represents Bentley’s first step towards electrification. The world’s first luxury hybrid model combines an advanced electric motor with a new V6 petrol engine, and is Bentley’s most efficient model ever.The all-new Continental GT and GT Convertible will also be making their first appearance at the Auto Shanghai show. The third generation models are the definitive Grand Tourers and have been designed, engineered and handcrafted in Britain.
