This video footage filmed in the Arequipa region of Peru last Friday shows the complete devastation on a local highway after torrential rains caused large amounts of unstable soil to break loose from the mountains and slide over the road, sweeping cars aside like toys. Three people were killed after the mudslide tossed cars aside like playthings, causing them to collide into each other as heavy rainfall continues to wreak havoc in the area. Rescue workers have since arrived to the scene and have managed to remove the bodies of the deceased from the scene. Travel warnings have been issued in the affected areas and some highways have been closed until further notice. Torrential rainfall across the north of South America over the past week has resulted in heavy flooding in the region.
