Building on the wide success of the outgoing model, customers will benefit from reduced CO2 and fuel consumption, as well as a series of class-leading technology and equipment.Meticulous development in the wind tunnel also made a significant contribution to the reductions in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions of up to 21 per cent versus the outgoing model.With a drag coefficient figure of just 0.26, the Astra leads the class for aerodynamics. And at 0.25 Cd, the Astra Sports Tourer is also best-in-class, too. These aero-benchmarks have been achieved through numerous measures, including an engine compartment cover, deflector-shaped rear axle control arms and a full-face shutter.The upper and lower portions of the new Vauxhall Astra's radiator grille automatically open and close independently of one another, further improving the frontal airflow. The underbody optimisation improves the drag coefficient by reducing turbulence.The Astra's chassis has undergone a number of improvements, too. New dampers provide greater bump control, even on poor surfaces, while the steering has received a new calibration, resulting in improved handling at higher speeds.
Vauxhall has introduced a new 1.6-litre Direct Injection Turbo petrol engine to its award-winning Insignia range.Available in Grand Sport and Sports Tourer body styles, the lively four-cylinder engine produces peak power of 200PS at 5,500 rpm and develops 280Nm of torque from 1,650-4,500 rpm. In Grand Sport body style, the Insignia 1.6-litre Direct Injection Turbo can achieve a top speed of 146mph and 0-60mph in 7.2 seconds. For the Grand Sport model, fuel economy is 44.8mpg* (combined) with CO2 emissions of 146g/km*.In order to reduce particulate emissions as much as possible, the 1.6-litre engine features a close-coupled Gasoline Particulate Filter for optimum regeneration (i.e. oxidisation of the particles that accumulate in the filter). The Insignia 1.6-litre Direct Injection Turbo meets the strict Euro 6d-TEMP emissions standard, which includes real driving emissions measured on public roads and comes into force for all new registrations in September 2019.
Elegantly sporty with intuitive controls and innovative technologies – this is the new Vauxhall Grandland. With the fully digital Pure Panel, the new model offers the driver a completely different cockpit experience. The Vauxhall SUV flagship also features additional technologies and assistance systems that until now customers only find in higher class vehicles. The technology from Opel’s flagship limousine, the Insignia, is making its debut in the German brand’s top SUV and sets new standards in the Grandland’s market sector. The same goes for Night Vision, which is celebrating its premiere at Vauxhall. The system detects pedestrians and animals in darkness at a distance of up to 100 metres and warns the driver. The semi-adaptive Highway Integration Assist keeps the Grandland in the middle of its lane and maintains the distance to the vehicle in front.
A car designed to arouse emotions and show the way forward for the brand, the new Vauxhall Mokka is the first to wear the new brand face, the Vauxhall Vizor. The same goes for the redesigned Opel Blitz lightning bolt emblem and the centrally aligned model name at the rear. The new Mokka is also the first Vauxhall with the Pure Panel and a fully digitised cockpit. In addition, it is the first Vauxhall available at the start of the sales with electric drive as well as highly efficient combustion engines. The new Vauxhall Mokka can be ordered now at an attractive entry-level price of €19,990 (all prices RRP including VAT in Germany).
Crisp and compact on the outside, very spacious and versatile on the inside with cool SUV looks. That is the new Opel Crossland (RRP incl. VAT in Germany from €18,995), which is the first model to adopt the brand’s unmistakeable new face, showcased just a few weeks ago by the new Opel Mokka. As with the Mokka, the new Opel Crossland dispenses with the X-appendix in its name. In addition to the design, Opel has further developed the Crossland’s chassis and steering, and added a sporty GS Line trim as well as IntelliGrip adaptive traction control.Organically integrating the grille and headlights, the Opel Vizor of the new Crossland extends in one single sweep across the front of the vehicle. The Vizor optically stretches the width and organises the fascia with a reduced amount of elements. The brand’s legendary lightning-flash emblem proudly dominates the centre. The Vizor will become a hallmark of all Opel models in the course of the 2020s with the idea of further clustering top technologies.
