Stroke Rates Down More Than 50 Percent For Adults Over 55

Description

According to UPI, the number of strokes in the United States has fallen dramatically over the last 40 years. Researchers confirm that the sharpest decline in cerebral vascular events has been seen among older adults. According to a new recent study, strokes have dropped by 53 percent for adults over the age of 55. Middle-aged adults between the ages of 35 and 55, also saw stroke numbers decline by roughly 39 percent. The researchers suspect technology like MRI and CT scans have given doctors more insight into less common stroke symptoms, particularly for young adults.
