The "Blue Moon" diamond sells at auction in Switzerland for a record 48.6 million Swiss francs ($48.4 million). Elly Park reports.
'Oppenheimer Blue', a rare fancy vivid blue diamond weighing 14.62 carats, will be auctioned in Geneva on May 18 with a pre-sale estimate of $38-45 million and could become the most expensive cut diamond in the world, according to Christie's.
It is one of only 11 known surviving copies of the US charter.
