The "Blue Moon" diamond sells at auction in Switzerland for a record 48.6 million Swiss francs ($48.4 million). Elly Park reports.
'Oppenheimer Blue', a rare fancy vivid blue diamond weighing 14.62 carats, will be auctioned in Geneva on May 18 with a pre-sale estimate of $38-45 million and could become the most expensive cut diamond in the world, according to Christie's.
It is one of only 11 known surviving copies of the US charter.
5.03 carat fancy vivid green diamond called 'The Aurora Green' sells for $16.8 million. Angela Moore reports.
