The Islamic State terrorist, dubbed Jihadi John, is believed to have been killed in a US strike Thursday night.
US Central Command commander General Kenneth McKenzie admits the United States made a "mistake" when it launched a drone strike against suspected Islamic State militants in the Afghan capital Kabul on August 29, confirming that it killed 10 civilians instead. "The strike was a tragic mistake," McKenzie tells reporters at a Pentagon briefing after an investigation. SOUNDBITE
The alleged mastermind of the 2014 attack on a school in the Pakistani city of Peshawar has been killed in a U.S. drone strike, the Pakistani military said.
U.S. and Iraqi officials believe nine Iraqi security force members were killed as a result of an apparent friendly fire incident near Fallujah. Nathan Frandino reports.
