Tens of thousands of people are fleeing Aleppo as Syrian troops, backed by Russian air force, close in the city. Most of these refugees arrive to the Syrian-Turkish border where they live in tents awaiting to be admitted into Turkey.

The fighting in Sudan has caused more than 100,000 people to cross the border, UNHCR spokesperson Olga Sarrado says. UNHCR, the United Nations' refugee agency, is estimating that more than 800,000 people could potentially flee to neighbouring countries as the conflict between Sudan's regular army and paramilitaries continues. Refugees wait at Przemysl train station on the Poland-Ukrainian border, some sitting on the floor, as they wait to board trains taking them further into Poland and further from the war in Ukraine.
