Jon Krakauer Says ‘Everest’ Movie is Not Accurate

A survivor of the ill-fated Everest expedition documented in Jake Gyllenhaal’s new film has accused movie bosses of failing to tell the full story. Everest is based on Into Thin Air by survivor Jon Krakauer, who is played by Michael Kelly in the film, and he has now spoken out against the way his book has been depicted on the big screen. He tells the Los Angeles Times, “It’s total bull. Anyone who goes to that movie and wants a fact-based account should read Into Thin Air." Everest director Baltasar Kormakur has addressed Krakauer’s comments and insisted he was simply attempting to put together a balanced version of events.
