"Pitch Battle" Talent Competition Coming To BBC

After losing popular tv shows "The Voice" to ITV and "The Great British Bake Off" to Channel 4, The BBC is bringing a new talent contest to Saturday nights, called "Pitch Battle." The contest will see singers compete to be chosen as the United Kingdom's best singing group. Commissioned by Charlotte Moore and Kate Phillips from indie producer Tuesday's Child, the competition will take place over six hourlong episodes, with a variety of head-to-head challenges, and will be broadcast on BBC One in 2017. According to Karen Smith, CEO of Tuesday’s Child, "After a divisive, depressing 2016, we’re bringing some humour and harmony to 2017 in a contemporary new format with story, scale and spelling-binding, hairs-on-the-back-of-your neck performances."
