Tehran (Iran), Jan 29 (EFE), (Camera: Marina Villén).- Iran is exploring all ways to achieve an effective Covid-19 vaccine to become a regional producer in the near future.For now, the local candidates are CovIran Barekat, who is in the first phase of clinical trials; and Razi Cov Pars, who has just obtained permission to begin testing in humans; as well as a joint vaccine project with Cuba. "It was not clear which strategy could ultimately lead to an effective and safe vaccine against COVID-19, so practically no opportunity was lost and any route or platform existed in the country was explored." 2. "The determined objective is for Iran to position itself as the hub of vaccine production at least in the Eastern Mediterranean and Western Asia region." 3. Although Iran is the most affected country in the Middle East, it has banned the US vaccines and relies on others still in development.
