Minneapolis, May 27 (EFE / EPA).- The protest continued for a second day in Minneapolis over the arrest of George Floyd, 46, who later died in police custody.As the protest escalated, some protesters also looted a Target store near the scene.A bystander's video posted online on May 25 shows George Floyd, unarmed, pleading with police officers that he couldn't breathe as an officer knelt on his neck and later appearing motionless. A group of protesters swarmed and set fire inside the Minneapolis Police Department's Third Precinct station late Thursday during protests over the death of George Floyd in police custody.The 46-year-old African-American man died Monday after a white police officer pinned him to the ground with a knee to the back of his neck while he was handcuffed and other officers stood by.Floyd's death has triggered days of massive protests in the US, and in some cases riots, the burning of buildings and the looting of shops, which has reached New York and played out Thursday during the tense protest against police brutality, as has happened in other notable cases.The Minneapolis Police Department has already announced the firing of the four officers involved, although it has not filed charges against them.Protests have also been reported in Los Angeles, California and Memphis, Tennessee.
