Ford today answers the call of Ranger customers asking for an even more off-road-capable and agile Built Ford Tough midsize truck, revealing the new available Tremor Off-Road Package designed to help owners tackle even rougher off-road terrain without compromising Ranger’s payload and tow ratings. 2021 Ford Ranger Tremor goes beyond today’s already-capable FX4 Off-Road Package, making it the most off-road-capable factory-built Ranger ever offered in the U.S.Tremor starts with a lifted suspension, redesigned front knuckles and 32-inch Continental General Grabber A/TX all-terrain tires on new 17-inch Magnetic-painted wheels that combine to deliver 9.7 inches of ground clearance – 0.8 inches more than the base Ranger SuperCrew 4x4.
Ranger MS-RT showcases stunning motorsport-inspired style, with a premium specification and unique details including a bespoke front fascia, 20-inch OZ Racing alloy wheels and muscular bodykit inspired by Ford’s World Rally Championship-winning partner M-Sport. Derived from the high-series Ranger Wildtrak, Ranger MS-RT retains that model’s generous equipment levels, one-tonne payload, four-wheel drive and choice of Super Cab or Double Cab body styles. The Bi-turbo 213 PS 2.0-litre EcoBlue diesel engine delivers 500 Nm of torque, driving through an advanced 10-speed automatic transmission shared with the Ford Mustang sports car.
Like every other F-150, Tremor uses a high-strength steel frame and high-strength, military-grade, aluminum alloy body. It comes in SuperCrew configuration with a 5.5-foot box, 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine and 10-speed automatic transmission plus standard four-wheel drive. Available in standard, mid and high equipment groups, F-150 Tremor includes a range of standard and available features. All equipment levels share core suspension hardware that helps balance work with off-road prowess.The upgraded suspension starts with retuned springs front and rear for added ground clearance and to help keep tires more firmly in contact with terrain. Front hub knuckles and upper control arms are revised while Tremor-specific monotube shocks at the front and twin tube shocks at the rear are tuned for softer damping at low speeds, with additional damping and control for more severe off-road events.New 33-inch General Grabber all-terrain tires mounted on unique matte-finish 18-inch wheels offer added ground clearance and a 1-inch wider stance for more confidence off-road. A Raptor-style bash plate serves to protect front end components in challenging off-road situations. The powerful heart and equally one of the highlights of the Ranger Raptor is the all-new EcoBoost V6 engine with twin-turbo charging. The three-liter petrol engine, optimized by Ford Performance, converts its output of 212 kW (288 hp) and maximum torque of 491 Newton meters into remarkable propulsion. Power is sent to the wheels via a standard 10-speed automatic transmission. Each individual gear also has an individual boost pressure characteristic. The result: the EcoBoost V6 engine of the new Ranger Raptor impresses in every situation with dynamic power delivery.The 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 engine with twin turbo is made of high-density cast iron and combines low weight with enormous robustness and reliability. The engine block is 75 percent stiffer than an engine block made from conventional gray cast iron. Thanks to fine tuning by Ford Performance experts, the engine responds spontaneously to accelerator pedal commands.Compared to the 2.0 liter EcoBlue diesel engine with four cylinders and bi-turbo charging in the current Ranger Raptor (157 kW / 213 hp), the new power plant offers a significant increase in output. This proven 157 kW diesel remains in the range for other versions of the new Ranger generation, which will be available from spring 2023. Ford will announce details of other engines in good time before the other Ranger versions are launched.
