The electrified cars of the BMW Group

The BMW Group now offers the world's largest selection of premium cars with an electrified drive system. There are 21 electrified models (Full Electric and Plug-in Hybrid) and 71 with 48-volt mild hybrid technology available on the Italian market.With a ten-year sustainability plan, the BMW Group underlines its commitment to the goals of the Paris climate agreement, focusing primarily on expanding electric mobility. Today, BMW and MINI brands with all-electric and plug-in hybrid propulsion systems already account for around 13.3 percent of all new registrations across Europe (source: IHS Markit New Registrations Report July 2020). This corresponds to 1.5 times the average share of all brands, which is around 8%. The Group expects this figure to rise to a quarter by 2021, to a third by 2025 and to 50% by 2030.

    A new Chinese car company called Redspace unveiled the innovative REDS prototype model at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show on Wednesday, designed by former BMW Design Chief Chris Bangle.     German car manufacturer BMW unveiled its brand new i8 Roadster model at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show on Wednesday. The i8 Roadster is a two-seater hybrid sports car featuring a soft-electric top and an aluminium body with a carbon-fiber passenger cell.The car comes with a battery that has an electric-only range of up to 18 miles before the 3 cylinder, 369 horsepower gas engines joins in. The i8 hybrid roadster is fast - its top speed is 155 mph and the sleek vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in about 4.4 seconds.

    This is the Arcfox Lite, a two-seater premium electric vehicle aimed at a young, urban audience. Produced by BAIC BJEV, the electric vehicle unit of the Beijing Automotive group, the Arcfox Lite was unveiled at the Guangzhou Auto Show last weekend. The trendy two-seater electric car comes with two LED screens on the exterior of the vehicle. Drivers can write their own messages on the LED panels through emojis, Chinese or English characters in order to communicate their feelings to to the world. It will cost between $14,000 and $16,000.
